Paycom Center Earns CMA Touring Awards Venue Of The Year Nomination
Dec 14 / Thursday
The Country Music Association announced nominees for their 2023 CMA Touring Awards this week, highlighting behind-the-scenes members and facilities key to the country music’s touring industry. This year’s nominees include Oklahoma City’s own Paycom Center for Venue Of The Year, alongside big-name venues like Bridgestone Arena (Nashville), Grand Old Opry House (Nashville), and Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, CO).
“This is a competitive business and we know these tours don’t have to come to Oklahoma City,” says Paycom Center General Manager Chris Semrau. “We’re proud of our team for providing a world-class experience and the OKC community for their non-stop support in attending our events.”
This recognition reflects the ongoing support from the community for great live entertainment at the venue. The Paycom Center team is dedicated to providing unmatched experiences for tours and guests and look forward to many more outstanding performances in 2024.
The nomination comes just over one year after the downtown arena hosted back-to-back sold out Luke Combs shows during one of the biggest weekends OKC has seen for concert attendance. Since then, the venue has hosted numerous large country shows from newer headliners like Parker McCollum to local legend Blake Shelton.
Paycom Center’s success revolves around more than just country artists as the venue is geared up to host a slew of big-name pop, rock, and urban artists over the next year. Unparalleled achievements among all genres, including an award-winning backstage experience for tours, has lead the arena to be a leader in the venue industry, emphasized by this nomination.
Country shows Paycom Center has hosted in the past year include:
- Luke Combs (two sold out shows)
- Parker McCollum
- Blake Shelton (sold out)
- Kenny Chesney (sold out)
- Walker Hayes
- Brooks & Dunn (sold out)
- Thomas Rhett
- Jelly Roll (sold out)
- Koe Wetzel
- Jason Aldean (sold out)
- Cody Johnson (sold out)
In 2024, Paycom Center has already announced highly anticipated country shows including two back-to-back Turnpike Troubadours shows, Dan & Shay, two sold-out Zach Bryan shows, and CMA Entertainer of the Year winner Lainey Wilson – with many more yet to be announced.
This year’s CMA Touring Awards will again be hosted Keith Urban and take place Monday, February 12 in Nashville..
