Security Policies

In order to create a safe, enjoyable experience for all of our guests, Paycom Center has implemented the following security policies:

All Guests are Subject to Search

All bags will be searched upon entry. Bags larger than 6” x 9” x 2” are not permitted (this includes clear bags). Detachable chain bag straps of any kind are not permitted.

In the event that prohibited items are revealed during a search, the guest will be permitted to return to their vehicle with the item or the item will be confiscated. Paycom Center will not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type. Paycom Center management has the sole right to determine the type of pre-event screening including but not limited to a bag search, x-ray machines, wands, pat-downs, and walk-thru metal detectors.

Prohibited Items

We ask all guests to arrive early and travel light, as you may be subject to search, which includes metal detecting hand wands upon entry. For safety reasons, prohibited items include but are not limited to:

  • WEAPONS OF ANY KIND concealed or unconcealed, including but not limited to: knives, mace, blades, tasers / stun guns, pepper spray, bats, clubs, and/or tools.
  • Large banners and flags: Signage cannot be larger than 11” x 17” in size. Spectators are not permitted to use or wave flags, banners, signs or other items that are affixed to any pole or stick made of wood, metal, plastic or any other hard material. No signs, posters, or messages on any garment with explicit language, profanity, or derogatory characterization directed toward any person(s). Political signage and solicitation are restricted from being brought into the building.
  • Bags larger than 6" x 9" x 2" are prohibited. All bags are subject to search.
  • Cameras with professional/interchangeable/detachable lenses and/or lenses greater than 3” in length.
  • Audio/visual recording devices (including GoPro, Google Glass, Spectacles, etc.). Audio and video recording are always strictly prohibited unless approved by the artist or event.
  • Poles, selfie-sticks, tripods, monopods, and missile-like objects that can be thrown.
  • I-Pads, tablets, or laptops.
  • Outside food and beverage. Should you need to bring food to an event for medical reasons, please call 405-602-8533 or email sking@asm-okc.com for assistance.
  • Chains of any kind including wallet chains or pocket chains,
  • Wrapped gifts of any kind,
  • Laser pens/pointers or any similar devices.
  • Balloons, beach balls, and/or frisbees.
  • Fireworks,
  • Aerosol cans,
  • Whistles, foghorns/airhorns, plastic horns (such as vuvuzelas and didgeridoos) or noisemakers of any type.
  • No signs, posters, or messages on messages on any garment with explicit language, profanity, or derogatory characterization directed toward any person,
  • Drones or any other model aircraft,
  • Hazardous materials,
  • Illegal substances,
  • Optical Illusions which are intended to create optical illusions or interfere with the ability of the eye to perceive depth or distance, such as pinwheels or umbrellas. (Umbrellas are allowed on days with inclement weather as long as they remain unopened inside the arena.)
  • Strollers are discouraged and will need to be checked in with guest services.  
  • Hoverboards, Segway, or any other similar non-medically necessary mobility apparatus.  
  • Hard-sided containers i.e. insulated cups or mugs.
  • Any other items deemed inappropriate by ASM Global and Paycom Center.  

If an item is revealed during a search, patrons may dispose of the item or they may return the item to their vehicle. Paycom Center does not safeguard any personal belongings or other items.

Walk-Thru Metal Detector FAQ

What items will I be required to remove before entering the metal detector?

Guests will be required to remove cell phones and other electronics (such as wireless headphones), keys, eyeglass cases, cameras, large belt buckle, large jewelry items and any other large metal items.

Are there any items or any items I should avoid bringing to the arena?

Guests should avoid wearing steel-toed shoes, wearing large pieces of jewelry or other items adorned with large pieces of metal.  

What if I have a concealed/carry permit?

Fans entering the Paycom Center will not be allowed to carry concealed or unconcealed weapons. Oklahoma State Statute Title 21 Chapter 53, Section 1277 specifically outlines that it is unlawful for any person in possession of a valid handgun license to carry any concealed or unconcealed handgun into any sports arena during a professional sporting event.  It also states that no concealed or unconcealed weapon can be carried into any building owned by the city for the purpose of conducting business with the public.​

Am I required to use the walk-thru metal detector?

Anyone entering the arena is required to be searched by a walk-thru metal detector or physical pat-down. If you are not comfortable using the walk-thru metal detector please enter at the designated ADA door where you may request a physical pat-down.   

What if the alarm sounds?

If the alarm sounds guests the item that triggered the alarm will be identified and you will be asked to walk through the detector again. If they alarm sounds the second time, you will be escorted to a secondary screening area where you will be asked to remove belts and jackets and will be subject to physical pat-down. In the event that prohibited items are revealed during a search, the guest will be permitted to return to their vehicle with the item or the item will be confiscated. Paycom Center will not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type.

What if I am in a wheelchair or need assistance?

Please proceed to the designated ADA entrance at each gate where you will be asked to consent to either a wand or pat-down search. Look for this sign at each entrance:

What if I have a pacemaker?

Extensive research has found no information that would indicate that the metal detectors in use have adverse effects on medical devices (such as pacemakers) or magnetic recording media. However, directives by physicians and medical device manufacturers regarding metal detectors should be followed.  If you are not comfortable with the metal detector please proceed to the marked ADA entrance where you will be required to consent to a physical pat down or wand screening in order to enter the arena.

What if I am an expectant mother?

Extensive research has found no information that would indicate the metal detectors in use have adverse effects on pregnancy. However, directives by physicians regarding metal detectors should be followed. If you are not comfortable with the metal detector please proceed to the marked ADA entrance where you will be asked to consent to a physical pat down or wand screening in order to enter the arena.

What if I have a hip replacement or other metals in body?

It is safe to proceed through the machines, however, guests with medical circumstances who prefer a pat-down screening may request such accommodation and will need to proceed to the ADA marked entrance. When entering the arena please inform security staff in advance of any medical conditions prior to entering the metal detector. 

What steps can I take to get into the arena quickly?

Arrive early and be prepared. Have your ticket out and ready to be scanned. Removable items should be out of your pockets and ready to be placed on the search table. Have your bags open and ready to be searched when you reach the search table. Avoid bringing large bags if possible.   

Follow instructions from security and staff. Rushing through the detectors can cause the detector to alarm.

Is there an express lane?

For some events, there may be an express lane at every entrance for guests without bags. Look for signage alerting to the express lane area.

What is the policy for children?

Children are subject to screening, however, parents with an infant may carry the baby. Parents who are attending with small children who are able to walk on their own are invited to proceed through the machines alongside their children.

What if I have a service animal?

Service animals may pass through the detector with their owner. If you are not comfortable with the metal detector please proceed to the marked ADA entrance where both guest and service animal will be asked to consent to a physical pat-down or wand screening in order to enter the arena.

What if I do not want to be searched?

Anyone entering the arena is subject to search. Refusal to be searched will result in immediate removal from the arena.
